The Norwegian trio Listen has won several international awards and toured in great parts of Europe, as well as Syria and Cuba. Their debut album received great reviews and a lot of media attention when released in 2007. The Norwegian National Broadcast described Listen as “a rarely interactional ensemble – regardless of genre”, and the renowned reviewer Roald Helgheim called the record “a feast”.

In 2004 Listen won the 1st prize at Hoeilaart Int’l Jazz Contest in Belgium, and the prize money was used to release their debut album in 2007, “Listen!”, with guest artists Arve Henriksen and Jovan Pavlovic. Their second album is a pure trio album, and it was released in October 2009. On the release tour they were accompanied by three acclaimed Syrian musicians: Afif Dahbar, Amer Dahbar and Maher Mahmoud. This collaborative project has its origin in Listen's tour in Syria in November 2008, as a part of a major Scandinavian culture exchange project, “Dialogue and Peace, Scandinavia - Syria 2008”. In addition to Syria, Listen has played concerts and toured in Belgium, Spain, Hungary, Norway, Denmark, The Faroe Islands and France. They’ve been lucky enough to play at fantastic venues like The Church of Nidaros in Trondhiem, Palaise de Pape in Avignon and the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao.

Today, Listen is involved in several projects in cooperation with other musicians, and all of these are good opportunities for Listen to evolve their own music. Their new album is a result of how their self composed music has been inspired by different cultures they’ve met on their way. In November 2009, Listen is invited to play at JoJazz in Havana, and with help from the Norwegian Embassy they will meet up with local musicians to begin a new collaboration project with Cuban musicians.
